A dental veneer is a layer of special material placed over a tooth, either to improve the aesthetics or to protect its surface from damage. Veneers help to improve the colour, shape and position of teeth, including chipped ones. They can last for many years. At Brooklyn Court, we normally recommend veneers as part of a total mouth restorative process.
A dental crown is used to entirely cover or ‘cap’ a damaged or highly-filled tooth. As well as strengthening damaged teeth, a crown can be used to improve its appearance, shape or alignment. A crown can also be placed on top of an implant to provide a tooth-like shape and structure for function.
Many of the patients we treat have older crowns that are no longer working well or looking good. Modern crowns (and teeth treated with veneers) are pretty well indistinguishable from natural teeth. Here at Brooklyn Court we often replace patients’ old crowns – giving a far better look to their smiles.
Adding veneers and crowns instead of extractions is part of our philosophy of saving teeth wherever possible and it’s something we’re truly passionate about. At Brooklyn Court we don’t ‘sell you up’ – we do what’s best for you, your teeth and your budget. Call or mail us today to arrange a free no-obligation consultation with Moiz.
